Ability and achievement tests pose significant challenges for some children. The TOF enhances the value of test scores by documenting test examiners' observations of a child's behaviour during testing.
The TOF includes 125 items for assessing behaviours observed during ability and achievement tests. The following syndromes were derived: Withdrawn/Depressed, Language/Thought problems, anxious, oppositional and attention problems. TOF items are also scored on a DSM-oriented attention deficit/hyperactivity problems scale as well as inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity subscales.
- Examiners record descriptions of the child's behaviour during testing. At the end of the test session, examiners rate the child on 125 problem items.
- Norms are based on an ethically diverse sample of 3943 children, with separate norms for boys and girls and ages 2-5, 6-11 and 12-18.
- ADM Module generates computer-scored profiles and narrative reports. Hand scoring is also available.
