Technical Requirements

For the Dyslexia Screener to work you need to make sure your computer meets the following system requirements:

• A Pentium 3® system with at least 128 megabytes (MB) of random access memory (RAM), 120 MB of free hard drive space, Windows® 98, 2000 or XP.
• A properly configured sound card so that users will have access to the spoken instructions.
• Adobe Acrobat Reader® to read the reports.
• The mouse used needs to be clean and in good working order.
• As the administrator you will need permission to modify, read and write to the directory the Dyslexia Screener is installed to.  There is a possibility that results will be lost if these requirements are not met.  We strongly advise contacting your technical support and testing the Screener before administering to users.  For full details of installation please see the Dyslexia Screener manual, Chapter 4 - Using the Dyslexia Screener.

The Dyslexia Screener can be viewed on an Apple Mac, version OS X (10) and higher. This is also now available online.
