Employee Aptitude Survey Tests
Consisting of 10 short cognitive ability tests, the EAS is intended for use in recruitment. The tests are designed to be used in combinations or batteries chosen to cover the major cognitive ability requirements of the relevant occupations:
Test 1: Verbal comprehension — measures ability to use and understand the relationships between words.
Test 2: Numerical ability — measures basic mathematical skill.
Test 3: Visual pursuit — measures speed and accuracy in visually tracing lines through complex designs.
Test 4: Visual speed and accuracy — measures ability to see details quickly and accurately.
Test 5: Space visualisation — measures ability to visualise and manipulate objects in three dimensions by viewing two-dimensional drawing.
Test 6: Numerical reasoning — measures ability to analyse logical relationships and discover principles underlying such relationships.
Test 7: Verbal reasoning — measures ability to analyse information and make valid judgements about that information.
Test 8: Word fluency — measures flexibility and ease in verbal communication.
Test 9: Manual speed and accuracy — measures ability to make fine-finger movements rapidly and accurately.
Test 10: Symbolic reasoning — measures ability to manipulate abstract symbols and use them to make valid decisions.
