The MHP is intended to provide comprehensive information about psychosocial and health functioning. It comprises two carbonless, four-page booklets that may be used together or separately:

  • The MHP Psychosocial Functioning (MHP-P) booklet has 58 items covering four major areas of concern: life stress; coping skills; social resources; and mental health.
  • The MHP Health Functioning (MHP-H) booklet has 69 items yielding information about these five areas: response to illness; health habits; adult health history; health care utilisation; and health beliefs and attitudes.
