Occupational Stress Inventory - Revised (OI-R)
The OSI-R is a 140-item self-report inventory designed to measure three dimensions of occupational adjustment:
- occupational stress
- psychological strain
- coping resources
The inventory comprises three questionnaires that may be administered together or separately. The first questionnaire, occupational roles, is made up of six subscales to assess role overload, role insufficiency, role ambiguity, role boundary, responsibility, and the physical environment. The personal strain questionnaire comprises four subscales to measure vocational, psychological, interpersonal, and physical manifestations of stress, respectively. The final questionnaire, personal resources, comprises four subscales which assess the coping resources of recreation, self-care, social support, and rational/cognitive strategies.
