PsychProfiler is a reliable, valid instrument that screens for more than 20 of the most prevalent psychiatric and psychological disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.Oriented to the DSM-IV-TR, it provides an accessible and affordable screener that can be used in the early identification of disorders crucial to formal diagnosis, intervention, and prevention of further mental health problems.

PsychProfiler allows for quick, simple administration, scoring, and report generation and interpretation. It can be administered via paper-and-pencil or on-screen by psychologists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, general practitioners, special needs teachers, speech therapists, chiropractors, and counsellors. It comprises a manual, as well as separate screening forms, and administration, scoring, and reporting software for two age groups:

The Child and Adolescent PsychProfiler (CAPP) has three screening forms (Parent, Self, and Teacher) that each take 15 minutes to complete and screen for 20 common psychiatric and psychological disorders among those aged 2-17 years.

The Adult PsychProfiler (APP) has two screening forms (Observer and Self) that each take 25 minutes to complete and screen for 23 common psychiatric and psychological disorders among those over 18 years.

PsychProfiler improves assessment and intervention by:

  • using objective and reliable data that incorporates responses from multiple observers optimising the efficiency of clinical interviewing assisting the diagnosis of disorders that share similar symptomology (i.e., differential diagnosis)
  • providing more accurate investigation of the presence of multiple disorders (i.e., comorbidity)
  • incorporating crucial self-report information in the detection of socioemotional disorders evaluating the effectiveness of intervention.
