A three-level hierarchical cognitive-abilities model, incorporating the g-factor and four cognitive areas, constitutes the theoretical framework for the fifth edition. The model and the 15 tests used to measure the four cognitive areas yield raw scores, scaled scores, percentile ranks, and age equivalents. Four factor scores are given also. A selection of the following subtests is administered according to age, entry level, and ceiling:
- Verbal reasoning
- Quantitative reasoning
- Short-term memory
- Abstract/visual reasoning
The SB5 Complete Kit includes an Examiner’s Manual, a Technical Manual, 3x Item Books, 25x Test Records and manipulatives.
Note: An Australian adaptation pack is now provided with the kits.
