Jenny Whatman

Jenny consults for NZCER and the Ministry of Education. Jenny’s areas of expertise include evaluating initial teacher education and teacher professional learning and development programmes, assessment, and self-evaluation tools for students and teachers.

Prior to working as a consultant Jenny worked as a Senior Researcher for NZCER for 10 years. While at NZCER Jenny managed the development of the Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Tool for Adults. She was involved in research and evaluation projects, including ones on adult literacy and numeracy, beginning teachers, initial teacher education, professional development of teachers, and teacher quality.

Cert TESOL (Global TESOL College), MEd (Merit) (Victoria University of Wellington), Dip Drama (University of Auckland), Dip Ed (Massey University), Dip Teaching (Christchurch), BA (English) (Canterbury)
