Evaluation

Te Wāhanga believes that evaluation work for Māori is premised by the right to exercise tino rangatiratanga over evaluative approaches that value the inherent uniqueness of Te Ao Māori. Te Wāhanga in association with NZCER supports the purpose of evaluation to deepen our understanding of what is making a difference for Māori and Māori educational outcomes.

Our evaluation work builds evaluation designs and processes with culturally- and contextually-responsive strategies to strengthen and preserve Te Ao Māori for future generations. We work with a wide range of kaupapa Māori appropriate evaluation methods such as: participatory, emergent, developmental, formative and summative evaluations.

Please contact Jessica Hutchings, Manager, Te Wāhanga for enquires about our kaupapa Māori educational evaluation services.
