Progress & Achievement for Students with Additional Learning Needs

Project Leader(s):

The Ministry of Education's (MoE) Inclusive Education Capability Building (IECB) Progress and Achievement team is working collaboratively with NZCER. The Ministry has asked NZCER to develop a think piece, as a first step, about how they might build on the work teachers do in the classroom to measure progress and achievement using learning goals and how they might lift that work up into reporting to the Boards.

Prior to 30 June 2016, it is proposed that NZCER will:

  • Scope a literature overview related to relevant practices and policies in other jurisdictions.
  • Conduct the literature overview, including an update of NZ action in this area.
  • Present the findings to the MoE with facilitated discussion in reference to a NZ context.
  • Scope of trial approach developed through this process.
