Join us for a presentation of findings from the 2025 National Survey of Secondary Schools - a large-scale survey conducted by the team at NZCER.

Report author and Senior Researcher Jo MacDonald will present findings for principals and teachers across six domains: Teaching and learning, Curriculum and assessment, Inclusion, Wellbeing, Support and resourcing, and Collaborative relationships.

The survey findings highlight sector priorities and provide valuable insights into how secondary schools are navigating and responding to current policy changes.

This webinar will be one hour, with some time allowed for questions. A recording will be made available after the session.

About the National Survey

The New Zealand Council for Educational Research (NZCER) has run a 3-yearly National Survey of Secondary Schools (English-medium) since 2003. These surveys provide a comprehensive national picture of what is happening in schools and how things have changed over time.

In Term 4 2025 and early Term 1 2026 we invited principals and teachers from all English-medium secondary schools (including composite schools and teen parent units) to complete a survey. After data cleaning, 106 principal responses and 830 teacher responses were included in analysis, a response rate of 24% for the principal survey, and 29% of schools for the teacher survey.
