There are two forms available for the pre-school age age:
- Child Behavior Checklist and Language Development Survey (CBCL 1½ – 5)
- Caregiver–Teacher Report Form (C-TRF)
The following cross-information syndromes were derived from both forms:
- Emotionally reactive
- Anxious/depressed
- Somatic complaints
- Withdrawn
- Attention problems
- Aggressive behaviour
Both form have parallel internalising, externalising and total problem scales, and the CBCL 1½-5 also includes a sleep problems scale. The Language development scale indicates whether a child's vocabulary and word combinations are delayed relative to norms for ages 18-35 months. The pre-school profiles also feature five DSM oriented categories:
- Depressive Problems
- Anxiety Problems
- Autism Spectrum Problems
- Attention deficit/hyperactivity problems
- Oppositional defiant problems
