Job vacancy: Office Coordinator (part-time)

NZCER needs an office coordinator to ensure our office runs smoothly and efficiently for business as usual and project work. We need someone calm, competent, and organised who will take care of guests, mail, food, rooms, keys, stationery, travel...  The ability to anticipate need would be an advantage!

We are an independent educational research organisation, with multiple research projects on the go at any time. We have a publishing arm, NZCER Press, and provide and support a suite of educational assessments, tools, and surveys. Our staff interact with people from across the education sector, from policy makers to learners, from early education to vocational training.

The role is 25 hours per week over five days (core hours), with the flexibility to work additional hours when required.

We welcome applications from people with:

  • a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in an office administration role
  • advanced skills in Microsoft office suite, including formatting complex documents
  • strong literacy and numeracy
  • high digital literacy and the aptitude to learn and use systems
  • an ability in, and a desire to improve, te reo Māori.

Our people have expertise in both research and practice, and we are strongly connected to the education sector in Aotearoa New Zealand. We use the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi as the founding document of Aotearoa to help us uphold mana Māori in our work, relationships, and ways of working.
