The "something more" in key competencies

Abstract

Reflects on the role of senior management of the school in creating opportunities for students to develop and demonstrate the competency of participation and contribution via leadership roles int he school. Looks at everyday and discipline specific thinking skills. Encouraging deep thinking and active more explicit process in teaching the key competencies involve several types of knowledge, metacognitive skills, dispositions, values and for example the skills of relating to others.
